ISO 8317 provides for the testing of re-closable child-resistant packaging. Protocols include: child-resistant effectiveness testing and senior-use effectiveness testing.

The European Committee for Standardization (CEN)

EN 14375 provides for the testing of child-resistant non-reclosable packaging for pharmaceutical products. Protocols include: non-hazard based child-resistant effectiveness testing and senior-use effectiveness testing.

EN 862 provides for the testing of non-reclosable packages for non-pharmaceutical products. Protocols include child-resistant effectiveness testing and optional adult-use testing.
